COVID-19 Data Visualization for the California Department of Public Health

As COVID cases continued to spike in April 2020, Unleashing Leaders, a contracted organization working with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), reached out to Capitol Tech Solutions for help in managing the volume and complexity of the CDPH COVID-related data reporting.

The captured datasets consisted of information from various call centers established to handle COVID-19 questions from the public. Data from the call lines included:

Call centers input the raw results into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets shared through Microsoft SharePoint. CTS imported the data daily, transformed it for reporting, and developed Power BI queries, views, dashboards, and reports to provide data visualizations for the California Governor’s Office.
